This gorgeous 1976 Fleetwood Brougham appeared on Palm Springs Craigslist recently, and it is extremely nice.
Bask in all 233.3 inches of full full full sized jumbo jet luxury from the time you could still smoke in an airplane.
Soft wool like cloth upholstery beckons you to sit while carpeted footrests, a Fleetwood only touch, encourage you to put your feet up, light up a stogie from one of the 4 available ashtray and lighter combinations and peruse the racing form while you wait for Tommy Thumbs to come back with this weeks numbers take.
1976 represent the last gasp of a unique Fleetwood model within the standard Cadillac line up, after 1976 Fleetwoods became “deluxe DeVilles” essentially, losing things like an extra long wheelbase and longer body like this 1976 has.
Some of the numbers on this car are staggering, 233.3 inches, just a hair under 20ft, and 8.2 liter 500 cid engine making what seems like a low 190hp but combined with 360 lb-ft at a diesel like 2800 rpm ensures that all 5300lbs of Brougmigula moves off the line at a stately pace.
So Nice Price or Nicest Price Ever?
You decide.
($8500 bucks BTW)

Do I also decide what the price is?

This post does not contain a price

The link needs like two spaces above and below it sometimes, at least if you’re posting on mobile

Dilemma: Ask rear passengers to remove their shoe or not when setting foot on the carpeted fold down footrest?

family next door when I was a kid had a ‘76. That 360 lb-ft was mostly used to turn one of the rear tires into smoke through the open diff.

That’s nice, is it $8500 nice? I don’t know but it is nice.

Probably a fair price, not huge, not a huge bargain. You could do worse for the money, and much smarter to buy one like this than to restore a mess. Too bad it isn’t a Talisman.

Yeah, that’s a pariah right there. If it was a 1975, it’d be worth that. As a 1976, it’s probably only worth $1-2k in California because it requires smog and therefore upkeep would be a bitch.

I don’t know why, but I want to be an Uber driver with this beast.

Got Dang...do want.
Although, my garage...even with the bump-out built for super-huge 50's& 60's cars...probably wouldn’t be big enough to contain this beast.

My dad had a blue ‘72 Fleetwood Brougham in college, and I looked at a red ‘76 Fleetwood Brougham for my first car. Didn’t get it, but it was one of the coolest cars I’ve ever driven. It was triple red and had 54,000 miles on it, I think they were asking $7,000.

That’s a magnificent beast. I could fit it in my garage, but I’d have to get rid of a workbench.

OK, I’ll take it. Back in the day my grandfather would always drive huge Lincolns and Cadillacs, although in his case they were always coupes. This would bring back some good memories.
